We will show you the highlights of this untamed region where the weather and landscape combine with dramatic effect.
Whether you want to get up close with a glacier, capture the world famous views of Lake Matheson and Pancake Rocks or explore a West Coast mining shanty town, you can do it all with us.
Our small group tours are designed to be interactive and family friendly with lots of photo opportunities and local stories. We have both half and full day tours available, all of which can be booked online.
Punakaiki Pancake Rocks & Blowholes
Leaving the central West Coast you will travel via the Great Coast Road, rated as one of the top 10 coastal drives in the World. With some of the best scenery on offer you will need a camera on hand to capture the views.
This 45 minute drive will take you to the small coastal township of Punakaiki where you will get to view the famous blow holes and pancake rock natural formations. Your guide will give you time to explore the area and local shops before exploring the incredible Truman Track.
The blow holes and pancake rocks is one of New Zealand’s must do activities and one not to be missed.
Hokitika Gorge & Treetop Walk
The famous Hokitika Gorge, walk across the swing bridge and enjoy this magical place. The vivid turquoise water surrounded by lush native bush, it is well worth a visit and a key photo stop on the West Coast must do list.
Thrill seekers will feel their hearts pump and the adrenalin rush as they climb to the top of Hokitika Tower 40 metres above the forest floor. Be inspired by a sensational vista of the majestic snow capped Southern Alps and the Tasman Sea.
Explore Lake Brunner & The Brunner Mine Site
Explore West Coast with this tour to Lake Brunner, a glacial feed rainforest lake and Brunner Mine Site, a historic mining area.
Enjoy a boat cruise on and around Lake Brunner, taking in the surrounding township and wildlife. Hear the stories of this land, once occupied by a Maori tribe, and the milling of the native trees around the lake. A great spot for trout fishing, swimming and recreational activities.
On this tour you will visit the Historic Brunner Mine Site, a place of historical significance on the West Coast.
The Brunner suspension footbridge spans the Grey River, linking both sides of the mine site. The site was once of the country’s earliest industrial sites where coal was mined and coke, firebricks and other products manufactured from the 1860’s until the 1940’s.
The area is well interpreted with a short walk around the historic coke ovens, brick factory and remains of the tunnel entrances.
